Rock ‘n Roll Half Marathon Chicago 2015
September 22, 2015
To say it’s been awhile since I’ve posted anything here would be an understatement. I haven’t made very many pictures this summer. That might have something to do with it. I’m just starting to get back in the groove and will have more pictures to share soon.
This is a scene from State Street in Chicago during the Rock ‘n Roll Half Marathon. The guy in mid-air is my son Kieran. At the race in 2014 we had planned this very same picture and I was pretty happy with it but this year he nailed it. We have always had this uncanny way of knowing where each other is at and it really worked out this time. Another example is below. I don’t think I have ever missed making a picture of him crossing the finish line at a race. At a race this big that is no small task!
A month later, on August 17th, I was saying goodbye to him as he was hopping on a bus headed for the airport. My son is now going through boot camp at Parris Island, SC. The next time I see him he will be a United States Marine. How cool is that?
