Ice Baby, Ice
What a fun day! Not…
The weathermen had been talking about this storm for a couple of days. Lots of snow on the north end and ice on the south end. We got both. Not much snow. Just enough to brighten things up a bit. We did get some pretty good ice though. Pretty to look at, horrible to drive in.
Elaine
Elaine skated off into the sunset sometime overnight. To say that I feel pretty lousy right now would be an understatement. She was a cool frog as far as frogs go. I have no idea what happened. She was just sitting on the edge of her water dish in the morning like she always does but something didn’t look right. A little nudge and nothing….
Elaine, you will be missed.
Stumpy
This is Stumpy. He lives in the tree in front of my apartment. Judging by the size of the condo up in that tree, he is living pretty well too!
I noticed Stumpy this spring. I have a couple of bird feeders out front and all the squirrels wander around picking up the dropped seed. I’m not really sure what happened to him. I don’t think it was a hawk that took his tail. The hawk would have finished the job. I don’t think it was a dog either as Stumpy is probably capable of defending himself against any of the little dogs that live around here. We’ll probably never know.
I have wanted to get a photo of him all summer, and even though he is a chunky little squirrel, he is pretty quick. None of them really stay around that long if someone is in the area. Tough to get photos. Anyway, Stumpy acts like he still has a tail and runs with all the rest of the herd like nothing has happened to him. Read the rest of this entry »
